I’ve been really enjoying making this pigeon wall piece to sit alongside my crow 🐦✨

Did you know that in folklore pigeons and doves are often seen as messengers between worlds, symbols of peace, devotion and the soul? In some traditions they even carry prayers to the heavens or guide spirits safely onward.

I love that these beings we see every single day hold such quiet symbolism. Their iridescent feathers catch the light in the most magical way, shifting between greens, purples and blues. They are beautiful, and they are hardy. Ordinary and extraordinary all at once 🌈🕊️

I’ve been thinking again about the powerful symbol of the hand ✋✨ I love hands, they are beautiful, expressive, and hold so much of our stories within them.

I loved making work last year using casts of family hands, and I feel a quiet excitement about returning to these ideas and letting them grow further.

Is it half term where you are? Today I’m reminding myself to be present in the moment and to lean into flow 🌿✨ I’m really looking forward to some time off work this week, as well as a couple of days away I’ve also planned in some time at home simply to be. And to rest 🕯️

Hello friends, happy Friday the 13th, lucky for some 😉Here is Firtha the Whale Herder, she was one of the very first doll sculptures I made 🐋🌊 I hid her away for the longest time, unsure if she was ready to be seen.

Firtha is one of the Finfolk, shapeshifting beings who move between sea and land. Beneath her skirts lies a smaller world, filled with sea debris and human detritus, carrying the memories, traces and stories that drift through time and tides 🕯️🐚

I absolutely love learning about myths, folklore and stories from all around the world ✨🌍 I find it endlessly fascinating how the same stories, symbols and archetypes appear again and again across different cultures and landscapes, as if they’re woven into us all.

Last year I was so lucky to visit two places I’d dreamed of for years, Egypt and the Minoan palace at Crete. Both felt steeped in myth, magic and spirit, places where the old stories still hum quietly beneath the surface 🐍🌿🕯️
